My mother has a "heat-pump" that is approximately 3yrs old.
Over the past few days the air conditioning hasn't been cooling much... the thermostat is set to "auto" at 70-75 degrees, yet the inside temp stays closer to 80. Then last night we had a fairly chilly evening, so my mother switched over to the "heat"... set to 72 degrees, while room temp stayed in the low to mid 60's. Please please please help out in any way you can, all of our funds are LOW, and if possible, I would like to attempt (reasonable) repairs. Here is where Im at on this thing... looks like its working right, sounds like its working right, but the dang thing don't feel like its working at all.
The said unit is a...

And when you get it checked out, they should also find out why you are low on freon,, freon doesn`t wear out or evaporate,if its low there must be a leak somewhere
