Hello, I'm 16, and I have recently discovered a lump on my the back of my lower head, almost near the neck line. It doesn't hurt, but I'm still worried. I can sort of move it around, but again, it doesn't hurt. It isn't that big, and it's covered by my hair, so the only way to know it's there is to feel it. I'm worried it might be a tumor please help!

It might be a mole. You should tell your parents and have one of them take a look. They might want to have the doctor take a look too.

Yes, have you shown it to your parents, a school nurse or someone

Agree with the others. Have your parents set an appointment with either your doctor or a dermatologist. It is most likely a cyst, which are not uncommon at the hairline. The doctor will discuss what treatment may be necessary, if any. Often you can just leave it alone without it being a problem since it doesn't show... although I know it can be annoying just knowing it's there... :)

Thanks for the answers! I must say though, I'm even more worried today, I'm afraid it might be a tumor.

Could it be a tumor? I was also recently hit on my head though.

Were you hit at that area? That could be the reason for the lump. Tumor? Possible, but it is important to remember that a tumor does not necessarily mean it is serious; there are various types of tumors. Odds are great that it is not a serious concern, but of course have it checked out if it doesn't go away or enlarges.
I happen to have two that I had checked out... one on the back of my neck at the hairline and one at the hairline above my forehead. Neither can be seen, and they are not a health concern.

Could be a cyst. Could be a pimple. Could be a mole. Skin tag. Any number of things. First step is to talk to your parents, and your doctor.
