Hello,
I have been on the pill since I was 18 years old, I am now 23. I am not liking what the pill has been doing to my emotions and body lately. I have been on a couple different pills throughout the time and I recently decided to change back to Ortho-tri-lo since it worked well for me in the past. Within 10 days I was feeling all negative reactions from it. I have talked to friends who all have said they liked themselves better without the pill.

Anyway at this point in my life I am ready to stop taking hormones. I am in a serious relationship and do not plan on having kids for up to five years. I am considering an IUD. I just found out about this method a couple weeks ago. Can anyone here share their experiences. I have two friends who had them put in and said the experience was painful but have not yet experiences the long term benefits of it yet. Also, if anyone can help distinguish the different kinds of IUDs that would help.:)

Thank you
Anne

For the different types, Contraceptive coils (IUDs) (http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/sex_relationships/facts/contraceptivecoil.htm)

I'm also thinking about trying it out, also 23 and on the pill but definitely don't want to get pregnant. I've heard that it can be painful and that you might have heavier periods... which isn't something I'd like. I'd love to hear other people's experience with it.
