I am a responsible young adult in high school. I get very high grades in school and am working hard to get into Brown University (an ivy leauge). I live in brooklyn. I love to dance, act, sing. I also love children. I could use money at the moment to save up for college and having a job looks good on my college application. I do spend most of my time in school so I would need a part-time job. What are some jobs I should look into?

Being in high school, there's likely not a lot of job options for you. Places like grocery stores, retail stores, movie theaters are good places to look. If you are able to get a job in a field you are interested in, that's great. But that usually requires connections. A friend of mine wants to be a dentist. Her parents were friends with a dentist so she would sometimes be able to work for their friend when we were in high school. Don't forget that colleges generally like well-rounded people. Make sure that you don't just work, or just do only volunteer work, or just play sports, or just join clubs. If you can, something like being in a school club, volunteer work, and if you still have time left, maybe a part time job.

I work for an answering service and more than half our evening shift are college students. They need flexible hours and that works great for us.
