Ummm I was just wondering how much the plastic rod in your arm would cost... and cause I'm a smoker would that decrease my chances of getting it? And if I was'nt able to get what other options do I have other than getting the pill?

From memory around $300 unless you have a concession (centrelink) card.

I am a smoker and that never even came up when I had mine put in.

Unfortunately I can't help you with that one... I was on New Start Allowance at the time so it was only $5 :o

I'm pretty sure the Medicare rebate is only on the actual doctors visit, not the cost of the implant.

Honestly, I wouldn't have got it if it were $300 and I'm glad I didn't. Some people love it but I had bad side effects.
I had no period at all for a whole year (yay) but I had very oily hair and skin, terrible acne, mood swings and weight gain.
