Bought a used Maytag Performa gas dryer, model PYGT244AWW. Was being used on LP, need to replace with NG orifice. I have the orifice, but can not figure out how to get it. Some help please.

Here is an exploded view: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=PYGT244AWW&pathTaken=partSearch

It's item #2 in the gas section.

Yup, that part I got. How do I get at it inside the dryer case to change it? Do I need to disassemble the whole dryer? There is no access cover on the back of the dryer. Dryer case is solid on three sides including the back.

I see your point. Access seems to be from the top or front.

The burner assy should come out as a unit somehow.

Www.partselect.com has everything you need to convert it. I looked up your model and it is part # PS2061951 less then 7 bucks.

Remove the 2 brackets on the back. Left and right upper top below the control panel. Just remove the screws. Pop the top off from the front of the machine use a spade of durable strength. There are retaining clips holding it on. Looking at the front door where the top meets the front metal cover, insert spade and gently pry the top loose. Now the top will fold back. Look inside the cabinet there should be 2 screws holding the front cover to the sides the rest are retaining clips. Remove the screws and pop the clips using the spade. Be firm but gentile you don't want to bend the metal. Use wd40 or other light oil to make removal easier.
Pull front cover to you as if you were going to lay it down stop 1/4 of the way and locate the door switch wires and mark and disconnect them. Lay down the front cover. Now you will have full access to the burner assembly. On some models the drum is partly supported by the front cover. You will need to lift the drum to re-seat the front cover when putting it back together on those models there will be a thick felt gasket be sure to not destroy the gasket in the process.

P.s. Now would be a great time to vacuum the lint from everywhere. Do not use solvents of any kind or powder cleansers.
