Our refrigerator is less than 2 years old and has had this problem since new. The ice maker functions fine except the ice cubes always seems to be melted into a hard ball together. The individual cubes are produced initially, but after a day or two they become cubes no longer. It's like they are melted into each other. Consequently, they don't dispense correctly and we end up throwing them away. Maybe the defrost cycle has something to do with it.
