Hello, I have a Homelite Super XL (Big Red) Model# 10739. I filled the gas tank up with correct mixture about 3/4 so full. The chain saw starts well and runs at top performance, but it runs for about 2 or 3 minutes then stops with it overheated. The entire chainsaw is so so hot that I notice when I screwed off the gas lid it had built up (ALL) pressure inside the tank. When I got it finally off the gas inside the tank was in a boiling state (Very dangerous)and the gas was maybe less then half gone. I put the lid back on and pour some cold water on the head/muffler to cool it off quickly because I never since gas boil before. How can I correct this problem?

Hi,
The problem is either an ignition timing problem or a lean running condition. Both will cause overheating.
Peace,
