GE TFX24RH intermittently dispenses water with a gurgling sound and with up to a 10 sec delay. Also, every other day or so there is a puddle of water under the front left side of the unit. When I turn off the water supply the puddle does not reappear. Cleaned out the condensate drain but this is related to water supply - not condensation. Ice maker seemed to be working fine.

Ours was the actual fill valve,it goes bad, replacement took about 10 minutes.

If your handy, call your local appliance store for the part and install it yourself,it really is quite easy.

KBC, thanks for the response. Did you have the same symptoms - incl the water leak?
I don't have a svc manual for this unit. Can you tell me where is the fill valve located? Do you recall the approximate price for the part?
I'm a do-it-myselfer when I can be.
Thanks.

Pull the unit out and follow where the water line enters the back,at that point is a (normally)blue unit with threaded connections, 2 crescent wrenches to remove the unit(water off, naturally) and take the actual piece to the appliance store for replacement.

You might notice where the water has been leaking from when you do this and note why it has been leaking.

Cost? I can't remember, but it's not all that bad.. call ahead if you want a real number and to see if they have the piece you need.
