I have a 1999 honda accord with a stall problem. When the car is cold or if I haven't driven it anywhere for 5-8 hours it will stall when I brake at a light. If I don't want it to stall I have to hold the gas and the brake at the same time. Any clue?

Also my brake light will come on and off periodically. I was told its just a switch in my car but it would be a pain to change it.

Fuel delivery... dirty fuel filter, notice any rough idle? Or clogged fuel injectors.

Time for a tune up... How many miles? Spark plugs / wires possibly.

Neither of those, check valve spacing / adjustment. Could also be a bad head gasket... losing compression, engine unable to keep combustion without additional fuel and revolution... You would notice loss of antifreeze due to leaking or burning in this scenario.

. Install new NGK spark plugs, if they are over 3 years old.

. Set curb idle to 700 rpm.

. Change fuel filter, if it hasn't been changed in 60,000 miles.

. Replace the Ignition Control Module and coil, if the problem persists:
