Hi,

I am a resident alien (green-card holder) in the state of Texas. I have been living here for nearly a year now and I am wondering whether I can own a firearm and / or get a concealed handgun license.
I have seen several pages that indicated that gun-ownership for green-card holders is legal. I am however not for certain.
Does anybody know the legal details?

Thank you.
Janet

You do not have to be a citizen to buy a hand gun in Texas and you do not need to register it. A CHL is needed to carry a consealed weapon. Gun Laws in Texas - What are the Gun Laws in Texas? (http://crime.about.com/od/gunlawsbystate/a/gunlaws_tx.htm)
