Just trying to find out if my boyfriends exwife can go after any of my assets during his divorce if we move in together. They have been apart two years and I am not the cause of anything.

If the assets are held solely in your name, no. If "she" can prove that he paid or partially paid for anything, yes.

If child support has not yet been settled in some States your income can be counted as household income, increasing his ability to pay.

Why move in with a married man and take the chance?

Why not insist that he divorce his current wife BEFORE you do it?

I'm certain the answer depends on what state you reside in. In Illinois, the "new spouse" income and assets cannot be utilized to determine child support obligations/maintenance (alimony) or other support issues. Again, you'd have to talk to an attorney in your state/county.

Yes, that's why I said "... in SOME States ..."

It is not necessary to talk to an Attorney and it doesn't vary by County. All Counties within the same State are the same.

If the name of the State is posted it is easy to research the law.
