Without a specific model it is hard to say how to reset it. It will most likely involve holding down the power button (while it's already off) and menu or mute (can't remember exactly).
Try unplugging the set for a few minutes then plugging it back in. But as mentioned, without the specific model number I cannot say for sure. Check the owner's manual.

Try doing a factory reset.
Press and hold the "VOL -" button on the TV itself and the MENU button on the remote, both for 5 seconds. The "Self Check" screen should appear. Now press and hold the POWER button on the front of the TV until the TV powers down. TV will restart and you should be good to go.

Pressing the volume minus button on the TV and menu button on sky remote for 5 seconds worked for me

Did you try The Component(yprpb)which consist of Red, blue, and a green for the video. And a red and white for audio?
What cable are you using for the 2 components you mention, anything else?
