Me and my family was riding atvs through a trail and the trail is now state property a wildlife hunting area there was a in marked game warden that we did not know he was one,we thought he was just someone hunting or something so me and my husband ran off my cousin is 16 almost 17 was riding my 6year old behind us they saw the blue lights come on and he jumped out and pulled his gun on them so they stopped well when we made it down the road and stopped and seen he was not behind us we went back to them and found out who he was... so know he is trying to press charges for child abandonment how can he do that?

Yes, he apparently can... and has. It's a criminal charge, not a family law "abandonment" charge.
To quote you, you "ran off" and left your child behind with a 16 year old in charge?
Yes, I would see at best that you left your child without adequate supervision. I'm surprised you weren't also ticketed for having a 6 year old riding with a 16 year old (right, almost 17).
Why was the child riding with another child and not an adult?

so know he is trying to press charges for child abandonment how can he do that??Hello mad:
He can do that because he thinks that's what you did. If you don't think you did, you'll have an opportunity to plead not guilty in court, and a judge or jury can decide. Since it's a criminal charge, I'd hire a lawyer.
