I've never met my father and my father doesn't even know I exist. I'm nineteen years old and I really want to meet him, but I'm scared of how he'll react to finding out he has a nineteen year old daughter. Should I tell him or should I just keep it to myself? I don't want anything from him all I want is to know him.

Hello lil:

Call him up and go meet him. Sure, it's scary. Don't expect too much, though. He DIDN'T step up to the plate when he SHOULD have.

PS> (edited) I see that he didn't even know about you. That changes things. He might be a GREAT dad.

Just try to set up a meet over coffee, I'm sure he will be just as nervous if not more than you are. He may be mad, but I don't think towards you, maybe to your mom for not telling him about you.

I think you should pursue meeting him. Meeting the father you’ve never met could never be a bad thing.

The worst case scenario - He isn’t interested in meeting you or having a relationship with you. You don't have a relationship now, so you wouldn't be losing anything.

The best case scenario - He’s a wonderful person and you’ll be able to spend many years together enjoying each others company. You may find you have additional siblings as well.

You’ve really got to try or you`ll forever be left in limbo land wondering.

Why hasn't your mom ever told him about you?

Have a third party do the original meet,
