I live in Florida so there is no possibility of frozen pipes as the temp has been in the 80s today. I know the water was on when I got home today because I flushed the toilet and washed my hands. An hour later - nothing. No water from any tap in the house. I looked outside for any major leak. Nothing. I have had no work done lately so I don't know what's happening. I am on city system and I always pay my bill on time. I am not on a pump or well. I can't bathe, shower, brush my teeth or flush the toilet. Please help!

Call water company and ask if they are having problem in area.
If not, u may have a valve on main line coming in that has shut . This can happen if the valve is a gate valve and rod holding gate breaks.
Get back to us and let us know if this helps. If not, we may be able to come up with something else.

I called the water company at 7:30 this morning when they opened and they report no problems in my area. How would I know about a valve on the main line and who would I call? Is that the water company's responsibility or mine as the homeowner? Also, is it something I could fix myself with not a lot of plumbing experience (clearly)? :o Thanks for your help.

Have you removed a aerator and checked for trash?
Has the water been turned off at the meter? Do you have pressure on a outside hose bib?
Have you asked the Water Company to check the meter?
Let me know, Tom

Well, I have an answer. Someone from the water company came out this morning and turned the water on at the meter. He had no idea why it was off but when I spoke with my neighbor he said that a plumber came out last night to fix his water heater and must have turned off the wrong meter. UGH. Thanks for your help! :D

I live in Florida. Greetings from Sarasota!
We're glad it was as simple as turning on a valve. If we can ever be of service in the future just ask. Tom
