Hi, All!
Okay, how do they come up with the expiration dates on foods and drinks?
Also, do we dare to eat or drink something if it's past the expiration date?
I've eaten and drank things when it's been way past the expiration date with no ill effects to me.
Have you done that too?
Thanks!

The expiration date is a guideline to go by. Like with Milk. If you keep it cold it can last another week. Some items go stale and part of the expiration date is based on best taste and not on making you sick. So again it's a guideline. Some things can go bad even before the date so its up to you as the consumer to keep a watchful eye out on products you intend to consume.

I hardly look at the date, unless I've had it for a long time. My Mom and sister used to pencil dates on their eggs, I thought they were funny.
Except for Milk or cream, if it still smells good... I'm OK with it.

Yes, I agree that if whatever food or drink item still smells good, then it's probably okay.
I still float all of the eggs that I have, even if they're supposedly fresh.

I go through mine too quickly to worry about it:)

I'm by myself, and unfortunately, my cat doesn't eat eggs! :p

I never eat or drink something that is past the expiration date, even if it is that very same day. My parents say its still good, but if its past the expiration date... NEVER! :D
I've always wondered where I got that from...
