So I have made a silly mistake and am worried about the outcome. I misunderstood an insurance policy, and due to this ended up with $1500 in my hands. Long story short it was claims for a medication I thought I was going to get, but in fact will not be getting. I didn't think it would make a difference if it was claimed before or after getting the medication, as long as I got it. Now that I will not be receiving the medicine I realize this isn't my money. I have sent all the money back to the company as a certified check along with a letter explaining the error. I guess I am concerned that they will pursue this as fraud, when it was never my intention, I just couldn't afford the medication and didn't think it would make a difference before or after the fact as long as I got it. Should I be talking to an attorney? Or is there even a case here?
