Installing a new Moen shower valve that has non-threaded openings. What is the proper way to plug the tub outlet on the valve? Can I simply solder a cap on the outlet or should I first solder on a short piece of pipe before capping it or is there a better way to plug?

John,
It's not a faucet but a shower valve. It is a Moen Posi-Temp Rough-In valve with 4 ports, model # 2570

Moen supplies brass plug with the rough body which has to be soldered into the tub outlet.

Ouch. No plug was included in my box. Guess I'll call Moen.
Thanks!

Not necessarily... you can go to Home Depot, get short piece of 1/2" copper pipe and copper cap. Solder them in. It will cost you five bucks but you can finish your project right away...

Thanks, that was my initial idea and seems like the most quick solution.
Will do. Thanks again.
