What state are you in? Georgia perhaps?
A traverse is an action filed by the defendant when he or she has some objection to the garnishment. There are three reasons a defendant may traverse the garnishment. (1) the judgment does not exist; (2) the amount claimed is incorrect; and (3) the affidavit contains an error.

If it sold for less than fair market value you have a legal argument. If it did not you owe the creditor the difference between what they gave you for the truck and what they received between you and the sale.
Is there a judgment against you?
