I have a Bryant, day and night plus 90, model 398AAW048100D furnace.
At first when I opened the top cover, I could see the pilot light on and it would click off after about 10 seconds, then relight again after another 10 seconds and continue to do this and never llight up burners or anything else.
I touched the wires going down into the control board and the blower motor started. If I wiggle those wires the blower motor will go on and off. If I hold those wires steady and the blower motor is the only thing that works, the pilot goes out and no burners ever come on either. Last year I replaced the control board for a different reason and still had the old control board. I hooked up the old control board and only the blower runs again emediately aafter turning on the power switch and again no pilot. If I wiggle the wires with the old board, I don't get the on and off thing with the blower motor anymore though.
My assessment is that the board has a problem with bad contact with the connector plug, but after connecting the old board I have no connector problem, but the blower motor turns on right away and no pilot.
I am assuming I need to replace the control board again, but is that going to fix the problem with the blower motor turning on right away and no pilot?
