I have a 2006 chevy silverado crew cab 5.3L V8, and was wondering how to change the break pads and rotors? -- I have a pertty good idea but I just want to make sure I know before I start ripping it all apart.. and do slotted and drilled rotors make a difference other then the look?

I'll let you do some research on high performance brakes here: Performance Brakes - Brake Pads, Brake Rotors and Brake Kits (http://www.brakeworld.com/)

The only real trick is once the calipers are removed, they need to be pressed back into the cylinders.

Remove the pads. They should clip in.
Open the Master cylinder.
Take an old pad and probably a 4" C clamp will work and push he caliper back. Install the new pads.

Just remember to push the brake pedal to seat the caliper before trying to drive the car.

Emergency brake usually has to be off.
