My cavalier starting having a humming/roaring noise that sounded like it was somewhere in the front end. It also had a kind of cracking noise while turning and going over bumps. Replaced both front wheel bearings and ball joint on the left side. Also had the front end aligned. The humming is still there and has gotten terribly louder, added with a bad vibration around 65 mph. Cracking noise stopped while turning, but is still there when I ride on bumpy roads. Have no idea what it is, please help! Oh, and also--the humming stops while steering left through a curve.

Put the car up on a lift and check the tires. Unusual tire wear may be causing the noise. Worn out struts often result in troublesome tire wear.

I have a 2002 cavailer, I noticed the cracking noise while turning and some humming also. I haven't gotten it check out yet but I am getting the car inspected on Friday and was going to mention it, I'll repost if I find anything out.
