I've not used my Carrier HVAC for over a month because it has not been cold or hot enough... but today I switched over to AC and nothing. The thermostat went to cool on and it was suppose to kick on in 5 minutes but nothing. Fuse box fine, followed the trouble shooting guidelines in manual and nothing. Is there another button somewhere else? Compressor cooked?

Start by checking the 24 volt signal to the outside unit.

Also check in the outside safety disconnect for a bad fuse. It is located outside near the unit.

Checked... Geesh... I should have checked that last night... it could be the GFI... it won't reset. It's outlet where the condensate box is hooked up... I'm calling an electrician... thanks for quick response.

It was the GFI. Lose neutral wire. It shut of the condensate box, and I'm guessing there is a kill switch when that doesn't work. Anyway, my renter is happy I'm happy... the electrician works for a contractor friend of mine, he came over in 5 minutes this morning... now if I can find a job where I can make some money I'll be all set. Thanks for the help.
