Judgement was granted back in 1990 for a bank loan which I defaulted on. Bank has renewed judgement every 10 years. Was recently served by sheriff's deputy was renewal notice. Deputy expected me to write a check to cover the debt owed. Stated I should contact creditors attorney and set up some type of payment plan so he wouldn't have to come back out to my home. What's up with that? What assets can the bank seized from me?

It depends on which State you are in.

It can be a property lien, frozen bank account, wage garnishment - again, depends on your State.

This has remained unpaid for 20 years?

They renewed it ten years ago. Apparently didn't get anything in the past 10 years. So what's the big urgent deal? The next time you see the deputy he'll probably be the sheriff and won't have to still do process servce then. :)

Sounds like a bored deputy having fun, he could not have accepted money or the service if you wanted to
