I found a small spider that I didn't recognize, are all spiders poisonous? This spider was brown with the underside black, it was about a half inch in diameter. What affect would a spider bite have? Do they bite? Or sting? Can someone educate me on this. Thank you ----zeke----

Most spiders are not poisonous.
Tarantula's are huge and venomous. See: Tarantula - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarantula)
Some Black Widow spiders are dangerous to humans. Black widow spider - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_widow_spider)
Here is a common one I see; the daddy long leg spider. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholcidae

The link's broken, KISS.
I disagree, however on spiders being poisonous. Nearly all spiders produce venom of one type or another. Very few are dangerous.
Truck, all the spiders I'm aware of inject their venom through a bite.
Here's a pretty good article about bites:
Spider Bites - Spider Bite Symptoms - Symptoms of Spider Bites (http://firstaid.about.com/od/bitesstings/qt/07_spider_bites.htm)
And pictures
AOL Search (http://aolsearcht10.search.aol.com/aol/image?q=spider%20bites&flv=1)
As you can see, some can be nasty, some can be almost nothing.

Cool. Those Daddy Long-legs are also referred to as warehouse spiders due to their webs accumulating in high-ceilinged industrial settings.

Thanks for your response, they are very helpful. I can handle snakes, and scorpions pretty good, but spiders still creep me out. Thanks again! ----Zeke----
