My 82 year old grandfather stays young by tinkering with anything possible and especially small engines. He purchased a Central Park Riding Lawn Mower at a garage sale at a minimal price. It runs and functions great, the problem is all the model/vin numbers are gone or shaved down. So since he does not know the model or VIN he can not get parts. So what I'm asking is if anyone knows of a place or knows what years these were made and possible model info on them it is 18hp with a 46" deck? If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

Hmmm, I think mtd made them... any possibility of a picture of it? Many of the mower companys stayed pretty much the same for years... and would look almost like the makers line.

Probably made by AYP, should be label under seat and by the battery.

I too, have a Central Park riding Lawn mower, 46 inch cut, 18 HP, 5 speed manual Transmission. It is a model 138-752-046, and was purchased new in 1988. I hope this helps you. I am looking for a replacement transaxle for mine. If you know of one, please advise.

Central park is owned by mtd, and was originally sold by Handy Andy.

Mine is a 18HP 46" cut Central Park
It's made by Murray of Ohio
My Model# 46370X26A
Manufacture date. 0544
Here is a pretty good parts reference. They could do better on their prices but they have a nice interactive website.
