Why is flow of water suddenly reduced to 2 qt./minute to Grohe Lady Lux kitchen faucet which has had only two years of use? It is in a vacation house so very little use. Can I fix it myself? We tried to see if we could take off the sprayer hose end, and it seems pretty tight! Is it just a screw-off end? I want to check for debris and see if flow okay then. Cartridge is pricey so want to bypass that if possible. Is it easy to install myself if that is what I must do?

The handle is Hand-tight on the hose. You should be able to twist it with bare hands w/o need for tools.

The Grohe kitchen faucets have 4 points where water can be reduced in volume:

1. Aerator ( the screen on tip of the faucet / handle ) / see Tom's comment
2. Washer with screen ( located inside the handle's threaded area where hose connects to the handle )
3. Check valve #1 ( located inside the handle / not accessible or serviceable )
4. Check Valve #2 ( located on the other end of the hose, where hose connects into the body of faucet )

You have to find it by the method of elimination. If the check valve inside the handle is clogged than you have to buy new handle. New handle comes with new Aerator and new Washer with screen. So with new handle you eliminate 3 potential problem areas at once.
