I'm 17 and I've been going out with my girl friend for 4 months now. Everything was going great besides occasional arguments and stuff like that. About a week ago I got arrested for shoplifting and everything changed. Her moms pissed off at me although I've tried talking to her and assuring her that id never put her daughter in harms way but she kept saying that she doesn't think I'm best for her daughter right now but that in the end its her decision. My girl friend is obviously upset that I got in trouble and that I'm currently grounded and can't hang out with her, but I can tell that she's having 2nd thoughts about everything. Its obvious that breaking up is only a matter of time. I need advice on how to let her know that I'm sorry that I put her through all of this and that I really want to be with her.
Thanks

Yep, obviously she is afraid, that next time you get caught, she may be there.
And mom now feels you are the next bank robber on the news in the making.

There is no way to fix this fast, if she stays with you, over years she may trust you again, but nothing fast.

Most likely time to move on and hopefully learn a lesson

You'll have a hard time convincing her parents that you're a trustworthy boyfriend for their daughter. You've harmed your reputation and it'll take a long long time to rebuild the trust.

Your girlfriend is probably feeling a lot of hurt, disappointment, and embarrassment about what you did.

I think it'd be best if you just move on and leave her alone.
