I set my television on channel 73 for dish network. Every time I turn off the TV, and turn it on, TV is back to channel 3 and I have to do a channel search for 73 and the picture comes in crystal clear.

Make sure that the channel search you are doing is set for cable and not air.

If that does not work, then try manually adding the channel. Without a model number it is impossible for me to say exactly how this must be done. But it should be an option somewhere in the channel section of the menu.

If neither of those work, then just try manually typing in channel 73 each time you turn the TV on. Some TVs will allow you to manually tune to channels without doing a channel search.
