My son, who lives in New York State, decided to marry a Columbian citizen with 2 children born in Columbia South America. They will be married in NY State. She is divorced from the biological father who lives in Columbia and does not pay child support though he is supposed to.
I've read the threads on this question and can envision that he will act as the 'father' of the children and as the bio isn't paying anything my son could be responsible for support should they get divorced. It is anticipated that he will not adopt the children. What is the best way to assure that he will not have to pay child support post divorce? Thanks in advance!
