I have a Kenmore UltraWash dishwasher and I noticed water is left in the bottom so I push the cancel/drain button and that will completely drain the machine. Also, found some debris around the bottom so removed that. Next time I wash dishes, same thing occurs. Again I can make it drain by pushing that cancel/drain button but this does not seem normal. What else can be wrong?

I can't answer this question, but I have the same problem.

I would be willing to bet you have a restriction of some kind, somewhere between the drain pump and the disposer (or where ever else the drain hose goes to). You see, dishwashers drain by time. The control mechanism only runs the drain pump for (usually) 90 to 120 seconds. If everything is flowing well, that would be plenty of time to get rid of all excess water. If, on the other hand, the drain hose had a partial kink, or maybe there's a food obstruction in the pump, it wouldn't be able to move enough water fast enough to fully drain in the allotted timeframe. Someone is just going to have to inspect the drain system from start to finish (inside the hoses as well) to find the obstruction. FYI, there is usually a limit to how much drain hose a pump can push water through, so make sure the drain system is as short as possible while still maintaining plumbing code requirements for high loops, if necessary. Good luck.
