You have lost the blood clot that formed from your tooth extraction from either sucking at the site, eating on that side of your mouth, drinking through a straw. If you have pain take an anti inflammatory and call your dentist immediately.

Had to spread the rep tick, but yeah, pain meds and a call to the dentist is the way to go

When I got my teeth pulled my dentist had me switch off between vicodin (I believe lortab is another name for that) and ibuprofen. Maybe the ibuprofen would help more until you can get to the dentist.

You are best to get to emergency or at least call emergency. They should have a dentist who is on call. Get it looked after as soon as you can. I honestly don't know of any "at home" treatments.
