View Full Version : How do I find out what is causing a toxic chemical smell under our new kitchen sink?

About 6 months ago we had a new kitchen installed. This included new cabinets, and a new sink. In the cabinet where the new sink is located there are chemical fumes that have not gone away. None of the other cabinets have this smell. It doesn't smell like food or rotten eggs. It smells more like glue, or plastic, or something else. It is very strong. I am worried for our health. Who can we contact to find out what this is?

Your first stop should be the contractor that installed your kitchen. See if they can give you any clues or maybe redo some of it if needed.

We are having the same issue. I think it is the faucet hose for sure and the coating on the underneath of the sink itself. Contacted Kraus's warranty today waiting for a response.
