Hi,

The center of my toilet rough in is 13.5 inches from the finished wall (in the basement). I don't think I can use an offset flange because: 1. the floor is already tiled and 2. the concrete would need to be busted out in order for the offset flange to sit flush on the tile and I really don't want to do that.

I think a 12 inch rough in toilet would sit too far from the wall so my question is would a 14 inch rough in toilet fit here?

If I'm totally wrong here do you have any suggestions for me that don't require a lot of extra work?

Thanks for your help,
Tony

What was your outcome? I'm in the same situation and have 4-6 options for a 14 rough in. I wanted to know what toilet you choose and how far from the wall it is

Hi siameseboo:

Toto toilets are the closest to actual rough in. If you order a 14" rough in for a 13.5" rough in you should end up with about a 1/2 to 1" max. between the back of the toilet and the wall.

If you order a kohler toilet you will end up with 2.5 inches... most of the time.

If you need more info. On this you might do well to pop by a local plumbing supply store with a showroom and discuss this in detail with them. Get them to guarantee that the toilet of your choice will end up with no more than 1" from the wall to the back of the toilet.

As I am sure you suspect, do not let them simply quote you the specification sheet as it is simply not accurate nowadays...

Let us know if you'd like to discuss more... O.K?
