Good afternoon. My name is Johnny and I have experience with floor care but I stopped for the past seven years and now I see that they charge differently.

Now companies charge the VCT Flooring by the hour and not so much by the sq. ft. I need to know why the change? What would be better and why? I believe if I charge by the hour the amount would be much higher than by the sq ft. I would like to charge him by the sq. ft.

I need help giving a price to buff 15,000 sq ft of VCT Floor. They want a bid for once a week and the other one for twice a week. We don't really need to move any furniture.

Please help me out. If you have any other questions let me know.

Thank you very much for the help.

We continue to calculate our pricing by the square foot and extend it to a total price.

Spray buffing is great for the up keep of the finish and is the most economical for your customer.

Depending on competition in your area and the general economical situation pricing varies.

Open area VCT floor work in our area;

Spray buffing is approximately $0.05 sq ft

Scrub and recoat: $0.15 sq ft

Strip and refinish with 4 coats: $0.25 sq ft

Suggestions only, you are responsible for your own pricing.
