I am wondering what my rights are. My company has recently reorganized and I am being moved into a position which is currently held by a expensive contractor. The reason they hired a contractor is because they could not find someone to fill the position for they pay they were offereing. Now I am being placed in this position.

What are my rights? Equal pay for Equal work?

How should one go about this tactfully then? I have raised the concern with my manager. What else could I / should I be doing?

I would have a lot of resumes ready when they tell you that is your new job, if you don't like it, there is the door.
