Hi,
I would like to get my taxes back.I live in uk and I 've been to usa in 2008 on J1 visa as an Intern in a hotel on Florida.I was supposed to be there for 18 months but I left after 3 months.
I was looking on the internet for the best option.I got across taxback.com but they are charging too much I think. My refund is going to be 484$ and they want 120$ at least.Plus they keep calling every day it just seems a bit too much in the face, typicall company to rip you off...
Anyway I found website j1taxes.com -the fee all included shoud be 80$ for foreign bank account wire transfer. But there is no address where they are located so can I check somewhere if they are officially registred?Anybody has experience with them? Can I trust them that it is a real company?
Or any other suggestions how to get my taxes back?

Thank you for any answers.

And I have one more question... Do I have to use one of these companies offering tax return services or can I do it in my own for absolutely free?I know I need 1040NR for non residents... the form is easy to get on the internet. Can I just fill it up and send it to IRS on Florida with my W2 form?
Or it doesn't work like that?
Thanks

You are under NO obligation to use an on-line tax service. If you can download the forms, read the instructions and file by yourself, go for it!
