Do you have a website and have you done any other advertising on the Internet, please?
Showme_urmove
Mar 25, 2010, 12:10 AM
We just started 2 months ago, but we are thinking about putting a website in a month. No we haven't done advertising on the internet. How much does that cost? Does it cost a lot? Do you think YMCA order shirts?
Clough
Mar 25, 2010, 12:43 AM
I don't know about YMCA. I do know, that it doesn't have to cost you anything for a website or to do advertising on the Internet and that you can be coming up in the first page on a Google search for what you do, where you do it though.
It's not hard to do that, but it will take you some time and effort that will be well worth it!

Mar 25, 2010, 01:53 AM
My partner and I just got a storage space enough room for all the equipments that's needed. Is there any way where you can show me to advertise on the internet, again I'm new at this so I don't know what website to go for advertising. That would be really helpful to get our name in front of the Google search. Thank you for giving your time for helping me!
Clough
Mar 25, 2010, 11:16 AM

Please open up another browser or tab to hoobly.com
Please also let me know on this thread when you've done that.
Thanks!
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 12:02 AM
I'm waiting for you here, Showme_urmove!
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 12:12 AM
I'm am here clough so where do we begin
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 12:17 AM
Okay, some words that I can think of would be:
Screen Printing California, Screen Printers California, T-Shirt Printing in California, Business Card Printers in California, Businesses Printers Printing Business Brochures in California...
Need more specific locations and words concerning what you produce, please?
Please give to me the names of towns and cities and as many words that you can think of concerning what you do.
Plurals, singulars, nd's, er's, ings, etc. All are important with the Internet advertising if you want to get noticed.
I'll show you how to format the ads once we've got the keywords down, at least a majority of them.
Thanks!
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 12:24 AM
Sir what do you mean about "nd's, er's, ings,"
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 12:28 AM
Different search engines will search for things in different ways. For Instance, Google doesn't like repeated words. Yahoo, on the other hand, loves repeated words.
Google also searches for things alphabetically. I'm not sure about that concerning the other search engines.
Therefore, it's important to have keywords like the following in your ads.
Printing, printers, printed, etc. as well as other words done in similar fashions.
Do you understand where I'm going with this, please?
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 12:29 AM

Clough

Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 12:47 AM

Something like that sir what do you think about it?
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 12:50 AM
Okay, let's do an ad.
Do you have hoobly.com opened up?
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 12:52 AM
Yea I just signed up!
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 12:53 AM
Yea I have it opened up
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 12:56 AM
What is the name of your business, please?
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 12:57 AM
My partner and I liked what you put, it was
"absolute screen printing & more" or "ASP&MORE"
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 01:10 AM
Please keep the Absolute thing and drop the acronym. Nobody is going to go looking for an acronym. People will be wanting to know what you do, where you do it.
Please give me a few minutes. I'll format an ad for you.
I'm fading fast here, though...
It's very late for me.
Another thing that I would like you to be very careful with, is your spelling and punctuation. Doing those correctly does make a differece when people look at advertising of any kind. Words capitalized that need to be so, commas and other punctuation marks used correctly, etc.
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 01:14 AM
Thank you! Yea I will be very careful with that. I'm not much a english lover but I have a brother that is really good at all that so he can help me with all the spelling and punctuation. We can continue some other days I know its about 3:12 where you are living, and I thank you for spending you time helping me!
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 01:28 AM
Words for the ad...
Title: (Don't need to add the word "title".) Screen Printing in California
T-Shirts, Business Cards, Brochures, Circulars, we can help you with all these and more!
Quality work, professionally done! Competitive prices! We'll beat any of the prices of our competitors!
Keywords: Screen Printing Monterey County California, Screen Printers in Salinas, California, T-Shirt Printing in California, T-Shirt Printers in Californis, Business Card Printers in California, Businesses Printing Brochures in California, Prunedale Ca, Business Cards, Carmel, CA T-Shirt Designs and Logos, Monterey California Business Cards, etc.
Get the idea?
You want to get people to find you in as many ways that they can!
Thanks!
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 01:29 AM
Other ideas for your business name? You can always play around with that for advertising...
Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 01:36 AM
Now, there are other things that I would like to share with you. However, it's getting very late for me and I simply must get to bed.
Thanks!
Showme_urmove
Mar 27, 2010, 01:37 AM

Clough
Mar 27, 2010, 01:53 AM
One thing that forgot to add, is that you need to be puttting your first and last name into an ad as well as you email address and phone number. Doing those things will add to your credibility.
Thanks!

Mar 29, 2010, 12:36 AM
What we do now, is search for it on google.com That would be by looking for what you do, where you do it. You could use any combinatiion of words to look for your ad.
Showme_urmove
Mar 29, 2010, 12:58 AM
OK I'm going to do that now

Mar 29, 2010, 12:59 AM
Other essential sites on which to post would be the following:
MerchantCircle.com | Find new customers. (http://www.merchantcircle.com/)
Naymz: Over one million people use Naymz to build professional relationships. (http://www.naymz.com/)
LinkedIn | Relationships Matter (http://www.linkedin.com/)
But, you need to be careful with posting on those. Spelling and punctuation needs to be correct. They're very picky.
I need to leave now. It's very late for me.

Clough
Mar 31, 2010, 01:24 AM
Yes, you should be taking pictures of your work. Posting them in the ad is an option. How you word the ad to attract people who search for what you do is the most important thing. People would need to be doing image searches to find what you've done. Most likely, they'll just be doing general searches on the web.
Do you have images already in your computer of things that you've done?

Apr 3, 2010, 12:04 AM
Well, you came up first on the list outside of the ones that are in the Yellow Pages! Plus, your ad is on the first page of the search in Google!
I think that you should be real happy about that! :)
You should be able to beat the Yellow Page ones too, but that will probably take a bit of time.

You won't find your given name and phone number on the Google search. That's something that needs to be developed for that you happen. You have to click on the link that you'll find in the search. * 10% money back to the boys and girls club.
* if they are doing fund raising if needed, we would donate T-shirts for the volunteers to wear.

If any of these places are within a reasonable driving distance, you might want to consider delivering those by hand, unless they've specified or that you've agreed to send them via email.
Also, if you do deliver them by hand, it might give you further opportunity to sell yourself and what you have to offer in person.

Please go to your Profile and check out your Edit Options. You should have something like the following there.
Visible Post Elements
You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.
Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)
If you don't have the Show Images thing checked, that might be part of the problem.
I'm not really sure though. It's just a thought...
Seems weird though, that I can't see what you've attached since I moderate this particular forum topic area.

You've done a really good job!
Here are some suggestions for how to improve on it a bit.
For your header at the top, I would suggest centering that.
There's a quotation mark before SN in the name of your business. You don't need that.
I see an IP address in the header. Did you intend for that to be there? I would suggest your physical address underneath the name of your business. Directly underneath that, your phone number and then your email address. The most currect way of listing a phone number would be 555.555.1212 That being with the use of the periods.
I would avoid all CAPS in any part of the header, unless that is the way that you really advertise the name of your business.
Are all the words of the name of your business all together without any spaces in it?
More to come...
Showme_urmove
May 10, 2010, 12:08 AM
Thank you very much, I will change that, the quotation wasn't there when I had it on micro words yes my business name does have a space I will change that right this moment. This might sound stupid but what's an IP address?
Clough
May 10, 2010, 12:17 AM
Additional suggestions:
Is it all caps in BOYS & GIRLS CLUB the way that they title it?
It's important to title it exactly as they word and punctuate it.
I would put the Unit Director's name first, following by a comma and then the title.
Mr, needs to have a period rather than a comma after it.
After the last name of the Unit Director, you would put a comma, as in Dear Mr. [Name],
Is the name of the Boys & Girls Club club complete? Or, might there also need to be an "of Salinas, CA" included in the name?
"One of the most affordable prices in town for your T-Shirts." "One", doesn't need to be capitalized. Suggested revision to wording would be: one of the most affordable prices available anywhere for your T-Shirts.
More to come...
Clough
May 10, 2010, 12:21 AM
thank you very much, i will change that, the quotation wasnt there when i had it on micro words yes my business name does have a space i will change that right this moment. this might sound stupid but whats an IP address?
An IP address means Internet Protocol. It's the numerical label (address) of your computer or the numerical label (address) of the server that you're using.
Please see the following:
IP Address Definition - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=IP+Address+Definition&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=)

Other suggested revisions:
I had forgotten - you need to put a date underneath your header and also have it centered. May 10, 2010 or, you could also use May 9, 2010
The bullets are good with what you're going to offer them.
• Lowest Price Guaranteed! Proof of price from previous vendors will be needed.
• 10% of any order will be donated back to the BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS (Make sure of the name of them.)
• If you do any fundraising, we will donate T-Shirts for the volunteers - up to a maximum of 20 T-Shirts.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to an opportunity to further discussion with you as to how we might best serve the needs of BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS.

It got a little confusing to me with the last edit that I did.
Adding colors and centering makes a post to be filled with a lot of extra stuff for a person to work around.
Basically, you center everything at the top and the bottom of the letter, header, date, the closing [Very Truly Yours] and your name at the bottom. Name and address of the person to whom it's being sent as well as the body of the letter is left-justified.
Everything also needs to look square on the page. Not too much on the bottom and not too much on the top.
I have other ideas for your advertising. But, that is for a later time...
It would be really cool, if you could post some images here sometime of what you've done!
I can hardly think or type right now...
Need to get to bed!
I hope that you have a restful sleep!
God's Love and Peace to You! :)

May 10, 2010, 01:45 AM
I forgot one last thing...
You'll want to use either Times New Roman or Ariel for the font. Size 12 is okay. If you try a size 14, that's even easier for people to read, if you can fit everything on one page using size 14. Also, you'll want one inch margins on the sides and no less than 1/2 inch at the bottom and the top, preferably one inch at the bottom and top, but in order to get everything on one page, you may need to use 1/2 inch.
Later...

I'm doing okay, but still am having issues making money.
Business has picked up a little bit though. Had a piano tuning today that was a chip tuning as well as a real one. Excellent money within a very short amount of time! Also gained a couple of new private music students. One is to play the piano and the other, the electric bass.
How are things going with you?

Tell me about it, same here having issues making that money!
But were staying positive and know that God is here with us.
I'm glad business has picked up! I always like that, excellent money with less work, makes you wish everyday was like it.
Woow electric bass, what's easy to learn bass or acoustic guitar?
Its hard to start a business from ground up. We are brainstorming on how to better the business and what steps to do. Haven't heard back from the Boys and Girls club yet, still staying positive about that account but were not putting all our eggs in one basket.
Its so hard cause were new at this business, no experience at it so were just learning from errors and trials.
But were kind of learning the market of it, and who to contact for our client. Things will pick up once we gets things going.

May 17, 2010, 11:54 PM

A stringed instrument of any kind that's called a "bass" is much easier to learn than a multi-stringed folk instrument like any type of guitar, where a person is expected to be able to play chords.

Hi, Showme_urmove!
What I wrote basically, is that you can post images on a lot of the advertising sites as well as on the sites where you can have a free website.
Why not get a website started now? It's not hard. Sure, your partners brother can eventually help you with some things. But, the sooner that you get your information out there on the Internet, the sooner that it will be that you might be getting new business because of that.

Here's a good one with which you can start.
Webs - Make a free website, get free hosting (http://www.webs.com/)
In about fifteen minutes, you could have a website up and running!
Let me find the links to the websites that I run the most on it...

Here's a couple of links, now.
Bend of the River Chorus - Home (http://www.freewebs.com/bend-of-the-river-chorus/)
Quad City Wind Ensemble | (http://www.freewebs.com/quad-city-wind-ensemble/)
On the second one, in particular, you'll find where I've posted a lot of images.

No, that's not me directing the group. I'm not sure if I'm in any one of those images there. I would need to do some checking...
However, because of my current connection speed, it's very difficult and time consuming for me to open any page that has a lot of images on it.

If you click on the following link, that's me standing next to a musical instrument that I built, or rather, finished building. Someone else hadn't finished it and had glued some things together that didn't need to be glued together!

screenprinting - Home (http://sncustomscreenprinting.webs.com/)

Okay, I've been to the site.
You've got a great start! One suggestion that I would make, is that you try to use a different color for the letters that are actually supplied by the site, other than white. The white on the black is a bit hard on the eyes!

What color would you suggest.
Clough

Against anything black, I would suggest a lighter kind of green or sort of gold.
Your site is about the screen printing business. So, colorful is a good way to go!
There will be many things to communicate with each other about using that site. It will rank up there towards that front ends of the search engines. But, there are certain things to do to insure that that will happen.
I know that you need to be up early. So, do I.
So, I pray for you a restful sleep and a very blessed tomorrow! :)
Good night to you!

I hope that you've had a very productive week, Showme_urmove!
I hope and pray the same for you and your family as you are for me!
Did you change or add anything yet to the site that you started?
Thank you!
