Why does my kitchen faucet leak when I am running the bathtub or washing machine {both in other areas of the house}?

How do I fix it? Could it just be that the seal in the faucet is worn? If so, do I need to replace the faucet or is there a way to just replace the seal? I have a single handle faucet which is 10 years old. Thank you.

This is kind of weird, Running the water in your house should diminish the pressure not increase it to the point of pushing it past the "O" rings in the cartridge. What's the brand name of the kitchen faucet? Regards, Tom

Thanks for your reply... the faucet is a Moen single handled. Also, I have an undersink filter installed, if that makes any difference {which is tapped into the cold water line only, so I can't imagine that it would be part of the problem, but what do I know?:o

It most certainly is. The "O" rings on the cartridge could have got spongy and allowed pressure to slip past. Replace the Moen cartridge and watch your problem disappear. If you need instructions click on back.
