Does anyone know if I will be eligible for benefits if I quit my job due to a long commute and physicality that is unsustainable. I have been doing it for 6 months but it has caused physical issues have no medical... though they offer it at premiums too high to pay for) and the long drive is costing too much in gas. I know it is up to the investigation to deem eligability... but if I was able to cvollect for a little while... I could land a job in my own town. As of now... my schedule makes it extremely difficult to even do any job hunting.

You probably won't get it. And, they won't pay anything until their investigation happens, so don't think you're going to have a couple weeks.

However, you mention that it's physically unsustainable. If you have reports from your doctor saying that, I'll bet you'd win. But, I'll also bet you don't have any such reports...

I don't forsee you winning any benefits as it would be a voluntary quit on your part not due to the job being dangerous, etc. Just quitting a job due to the long commute is not a valid reason for Unemployment to grant you benefits.

Better take some time off and seriously job hunt or keep driving. I once had a job where I had a 1 1/2 hour commute one way to get there. I simply hunted for another job when I could and once I found a job closer to my house THEN I quit my other job and started my new job.

In the meantime if you're quitting the one job hoping that you will get unemployment benefits in a few weeks or months you will be sorely disappointed. Sorry.

The company will turn it down at first for sure, and you will have to appeal.
Since you
1. knew the driving distance when you took the job I don't see it being an allowed reason

2. Cost of Health insurance has nothing to do with it, In fact yes it is high but try and see how high if it is not company. And of course doctor and hospital bills are so high, you can't afford not to have it
