You think some of the same ingredients in the cream that made you break out after you stopped use is in the soap you are using now?

Perhaps taking a break from ALL the products in the Makari line is the answer. Try another product line all together so your skin can clear up.

Makari Products are a COMPLETE SCAM. They are real expensive but not worth the money. I used them for a few months and I stopped because I realized how it damged my skin so bad... my face was covered with pimples even though I have always had clear smooth acne free face all my life. The body lotions gave me a lot of boils!! On my legs and butt and it was so painful. Please do not waste your money on these products. They suck!

I don't have any experience with any of these products but this sounds very similar to some acne medications out there.

The products work while you're using them, but stop, even for a short time, and your skin will react. Then of course they advise you to buy more products to help with the rash or break out you're experiencing, which makes stopping altogether even harder because they're keeping your skin on that product.

I'm sure it's very frustrating to be breaking out, getting rash, but I really think the best solution is to stop using any of their products, let your skin get used to not having these ingredients. Just use a good soap and cream until your face clears up.

Again, I've never used any skin whitening products, but I have had skin problems in the past. When I was 12 I had a bumpy rash on my left cheek. It covered the entire left cheek, from chin to right under my eye, ear to nose. I lived with it for 4 years, saw specialist after specialist. It wasn't acne, it wasn't an allergic reaction. They had no clue what it was other then the fact that it was unsightly and I couldn't get rid of it. It was hard to live with.

I was teased and tormented, and after living with it for years I resigned myself to the possibility that this was permanent and I'd have to live with it. No makeup could cover it up.

One specialist even recommended a skin graft. He was sure this would be the only way to get rid of it.

The last specialist we saw, after 4 years of dealing with this, recommended vitamin E cream and vitamin E gels. We bought the products from a health store (not cheap) and within a week the bumps were completely gone.

I'm not saying this will work to get rid of your rash, but it can't hurt to try. I would stop any products you're using right now, buy a generic soap (something without any dyes or perfumes) just to keep your face clean and some vitamin E cream (Walmart has some where I live, around $4 for a big tub and just as good as the stuff I bought at the health store) and vitamins (I didn't ingest the vitamins, they're a gel and I'd poke a needle into the vitamin and put the gel on my face where the bumps were).

That's really the only thing I can think of that may help. I'd say it's worth a try anyway. :)

Good luck. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Altenweg,

I am so glad that you found your solution, but it saddens me to think that such a simple treatment could have ended all your problems so much sooner. And it frightens me to think that someone suggested a graft, such an extreme remedy. If only one person benefits from what you have said, then that will be one less person suffering needlessly. Thank you for sharing .

I bought Makari a few months ago, I used it for a week or so. I broke out bad and was left with dark spots all over my face. I have finally cleared the spots up.

... Wow!
Anyway,I won't say it is a complete scam. I have used Makari as well. But it didn't give me boils though.True enough... it dpes make ypou breakout-in my case, its when I use it for long.I use just a bottle and switch to something else.
However, that is why we always say what works for Y may not work for Z.

What I dislike is the very high prices and it can cause acne for many. But, I was fortunate that it did lighten a lot for me in the past and although I didn't get the infamous acne outbreak.. I only would get a zit or 2 here and there while using it. I don't know if this was largely due to the types of exfoliating that I was using that may have largely helped prevent outbreaks.

I called makari office and i was advised to buy the cleansing soap and i should also buy the night cream

Whomever advised you to use the Night Crème to clear your acne and skin, even after you were having acne outbreaks from their previous products, they should not have done so. As that is one of their most oiliest of products, especially if you were already experiencing breakouts from it. Even the ingredient label listed, there are several types of hydrogenated oils and silicones used which can potentially further clog pores. The caviar crème contains caviar, which many have reactions to this.

The instruction sheet and the site state that if you have oily skin, then avoid the night crème and caviar crème. Whomever mentioned for you to use the night crème to clear your skin and acne, which is quite oily and you were already experimenting breakouts, you should probably report what they had suggessted to their superior. As it was false and uneducated information that they gave. I think anyone who are tempted to try Makari this is done at your own risk because it can possibly cause you acne outbreaks and may not be best for your skin. What works great for one, may not work rgeat for another, unfortunately.

I would discontinue use from the brand and use a non-irritating gentle facial wash and vitamin E as Altenwig had suggested. Along with sunblock to prevent the spots from redarkening. Search for gel and serum type skin lighteners, as this seem to work better for acne prone skin and lowers the risk of outbreaks.

What a story Altenweg! Thanks for sharing it with us!
So how's your skin now? Do you still use Vitamin E?
And if you stopped did the rash come back?

Hmm always looked down on those vitamin E capsules thinking they could nothing for the skin but leave a greasy film. My sister used to use it on her knees for a scar she had I guess it was to soften it:confused: Now I see it cleared your rash. Guess it's good for something! :)

I use it every day and my skin is actually one of my best features (or so I've been told ;)) I'm now 39 and I've never had a repeat of that rash.

The rash has never returned and to this day no one knows what it was or why I had it for 4 years. I no longer use the vitamin E capsules. They're sticky, like honey, same consistency too. When I was using them I put it on at night, then washed it off in the morning. I have heard that they're great for scars but I've never used them for that.

I no longer buy the expensive vitamin E cream from the health store. It's around $30 for a tiny jar . Walmart used to have a great one, but I actually went today, and they no longer carry it. It was perfume and dye free, and around $4 for a huge jar. It would last me around 2 years with morning and night application. I did find something equal at London Drugs (I don't know if the US has London Drugs) and I bought that. Same price, same size jug, the brand name is London Drugs vitamin E cream.

I swear by vitamin E cream, it really helped me and still keeps my face clear of rashes, pimples, you name it.

OK Chattonclaire, you have got to try Vitamin E! Vitamin E!
Maybe it will help with the rash Makari caused.

Altenweg:
You had a Vitamin E cream for two years?
I thought that stuff went rancid after a while no?
Or maybe it was just the capsules that goes bad.

Does the cream you use have blue label on it?
I see a London Vitamin E gel but not a cream.

Mine is a cream. As long as you keep the jar sealed it's good for longer then two years. Leave the jar unsealed and it becomes hard and pasty.

The cream I use is very soothing, like a normal skin cream. I love it. It's not thick, it doesn't feel like you have tons of goop on your face, it absorbs nicely and quickly.

I hate the gels, they seem to stay on your skin forever. I've only used the gel capsules when my rash was its worse. For the OP it may be worth it until the blemishes and rash are gone, but after that I'd stick to just the cream.

No, it's not London Vitamin E, but that product may be okay. The stuff I used to buy at Walmart was a no name brand. As long as there are no dyes or perfumes, vitamin E cream is pretty generic, no need to spend tons of money on a name brand or health store brand. In fact, the health store stuff was thick and greasy compared to what I buy now. The stuff I use is almost the consistency of cocoa butter cream, it absorbs quickly and doesn't make your skin greasy at all.

I used the London drugs product today and it's exactly like the stuff I used to buy at Walmart. Also, I asked Walmart why they don't sell it anymore, they said it just wasn't leaving the shelves quickly enough, which is understandable because one jug lasted me 2 years. I also asked if all stores are getting rid of it, she said no, that some stores would continue to carry it, so I'd still look at Walmart just to make sure. :)

I recently brought makari, I brought the serum in hopes that it wouldn't break me out. I did break out initially, so I took a break and used funkymommy gluta c cream for a couple days which dried out the pimples. I was still left with dark spots when the acne subsided but continued the makari and I did lighten, I would say about 2 shades and I only used it for about 2 1/2 weeks, I had to stop because people at my job started questioning my lightness, but truly decided to stop because I am really looking for something to EVEN my skin tone and makari just made me overall lighter, which is good too but I'm yearning for flawless skin.

I know how that is! Samething happened to me a while back.
They sent a white co-worker to ask me what I was doing!

I played dumb like huh:confused:
What are you talking about? Oh they said that? I don't know?

What's funny is me and that white co-worker still hang out and we both went over my mothers house and she saw a picture of me from a couple of years ago when I was using a different lightening cream and asked "is that you?" She said "oh you look so different!!"

She kept looking back and forth between me and the picture.
I could tell she liked the picture better, so did I:p

There are quality products out there. For those from the Philippines there is a company called Splash.

Splash products are now coming to Canada and the US and are of the highest quality. I am representing them and the product has been approved by Canada and the US. There are several products from soaps to creams.. mild to strong. These quality products are very popular in PH and do work. They also produce a number of quality beauty products.
