Has anyone considered using foundation as a means for achieve lighter skin?

I have, mainly because I'm on a TIGHT budget.

I tried using 4% Hydroquinone that I bought from an online store. I used it for about 4 days because it started to give me acne. So I didn't see any results because it was too soon to tell. But the thing is I'm on a budget and I don't have that much money to spend paying for all the HQ, and using creams like that and staying out of the sun at all times. Because If I get in the sun my skin will darken and ruin a lot of hard work.

So what I wanted to do instead was just put on makeup whenever I please and where ever I please to get the desired look and color I want. Plus I don't have to worry about staying out of the sun or wearing sunblock.

So I wanted to just use foundation as a means to have lighter skin.

Yes but you can't put foundation on your entire body and spring is coming I think people want to show some skin.
(I think)

I have heard of a girl who airbrushed her way to "lighter skin" but I would be worried about my make up wearing off and the true colour peeering through. She did say it looked natural as it was airbrushed but I wonder if she had deep demarcation lines where her true colour met up with the make up. It seems like a lot of maintenance and a lot of worrying if the make up smudges. How have you managed ?

I think she means just for the parts that are clearly visible. I would just buy whatever shade I'm trying to attain, in a concealer, matte foundation and a translucent powder, to ensure full coverage.

AIRBRUSHING: I guess for an occasional thing and if it was minimal (for example just face and arms), then that is reasonable. But I can't picture putting makeup ALL OVER, especially in warmer weather. I think instead of adding a boost to my confidence, "airbrushing" would make me feel so self conscious. When I had severe bacne, I'd put makeup on my back to cover the hyperpigmentation, so in a sense I know the process all too well. I'd always be worrying about whether it had come come off, I worried about whether it was on my clothes and of course, I had to make sure I didn't embrace anyone or rub off accidentally on anything. Too much worrying.

So in my opinion, makeup is really not the greatest alternative.
