I have heard that Hydrogen peroxide can be used to lighten skin but I'm aware that this can be very harmful but used with caution. One of my friend says she knows someone who used it and lightenend really well.
Has anyone ever used H.P or currently using it? Do u use it with other products or alone. I would appreciate it if someone respond please. Thanks.

Hi naijachik, Have answered your question in another thread but basically this method is not recommended as it will ultimately damage the skin and really does your skin no good.

Naija - I have used hp for two years at a stretch from the age of 16 to 18 when I suffered from super severe acne. It lightened me a lot temporarily after using it and by evening I was dark and dull as anything.

Not using it one day, people would comment saying HOW unfresh I was looking... no jokes. So it was not a psychological thing for me. Every time I went out no matter how well dressed and groomed, the day I missed using it, people thought I looked disastrously unfresh.

ANd the day I did I looked normal. I had become so dependent on it, I couldn't bear to meet relatives without using it and having a shower.

Every time I went out I had to rush for a shower then apply it and go out.

Then one day I realised wihtout having used it three days, my skin was like ( although my acne had drastically reduced by then as it had super dried my skin out)

So I decided, no matter what Im not ruining my skin further and just quit it completely. I kept using retin a and whenever the chance be it, used jolene bleach on my face... a very asian thing to do. It never had the same effect as hp but over time and with patience and better eating my skin may not look as bright and fresh as with it. But still I'm glad my skin can at least look decent wihtout having to apply something like hp every single day of my life!

Confession: While it works, its amazing. But over time you will be dependent on it like some women who are stuck to makeup the moment they wakeup.

THAnks (maharani) and (imgorgeous) for the advice. I was actually considering buying some h.p to add to my lightening regime but since it can only temporarily lighten. Then I don't need it. Plus it has bad effects on your skin. I have done so more research on h.p definitely not one to use. Thank you. I need to find something else that can lighten my body. It so depressing having a darker body than face. Any suggestions?

If you have a darker body as compared to your face, then your lucky because your face is lighter for whatever stuff you have used in the past.
And although you don't realise it works, it has worked.

Logically, practically and almost NEVER can a persons face be lighter than the body unless he or she is using some cream, bleach or something to the face.

I know my really dark friends who have lighter faces. Its apparent they bleach and do treatments. Because your face will never otherwise be lighter than your body .
