I am 39 years old and had unprotected sex 9 days after my last period. I am not on any birthcontrol. I am very regular with my periods, and have a 28day cycle. However, the day after I had sex I started to get a discharge (egg white mucus) and also the following day too. At first I thought this may still be sperm left inside of me, however I now think it may be the sign I am ovulating. From looking at conception calendars, if this discharge is ovulation then I am at least 3 days early... I have no cramps or any other signs. Could I still fall pregnant? Any help would be so much appreciated as I am very confused.

There is a chance of becoming pregnant 9 days after your period ends for a few reasons.

1. Sperm can live inside your body (under proper conditions ie: fertile cervical fluid/proper temps) for up to five days.

2. You may ovulate early. (And yes, egg white cervical mucus is considered highly fertile)

Quite frankly, I ovulated 10 days after my period ended the cycle I became pregnant with our newborn.
