What happens to a first time offender for forgery in Indiana? I just recently found out I have a warrant for Forgery in my state of Indiana and I have never been arrested for anything. I'm not even sure what this is about. I have an idea that it is probably because I was approached by a man in a parking lot one day who asked me to help him cash a money order that was blank and he needed my help because he had no I.D. Stupid me being the person that I am wanting to help out anybody I can told him I would do it because he had me call the number on the back of the money order and it told me that it was good and outstanding. Therefore I was thinking this guy really just needed me to do it because he had no I.D. and that if there were anything wrong it would have said that when I called that number on the back. I am going to go turn myself in tomorrow morning and I am scared to death! I am not a criminal and would never break a law. Now I need to know what to expect. Can I offer to pay the money back on this thing if this is what it is for? What can happen to someone in the state of Indiana on a first time offense of Forgery? Would'nt they have to prove I put my name on it? I did'nt put my name on this thing. It was blank and the guy put my name on it. I just need to know what to expect. My nerves are shot from thinking about this! Please help me if you can! Let me know what to expect! Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
