During tests, I find that I can't seem to concentrate because of all the noises people make, clicking their pens, etc.
What can I do block out this noise and concentrate on writing the test?

Ask your teacher if you can move to a quieter place in the classroom.

I always found with some of my students it worked really well. Also concentrate as hard as you can on what you are working on. Are you allowed to chew gum? That also works. Good Luck!:)

Ear plugs.

Don't know if the Bose Quiet Comfort III, Noise Cancelling Headphones, I think II is the new series. The cord actually detaches from the headpiece. I used the QCII series to drown out a fan without playing music. They had both at a local Best Buy to try out. The III is more comfortable, not to mention better in noise cancelling and fidelity.

Kitkat:

If you want to hear a pair of headphones, find a pair of Stax Electrostatic headphones. Stereophile: Stax SR-007 Omega II electrostatic headphones (http://www.stereophile.com/headphones/895/) Price is out of reach, though.

The Stax are not portable. They are ~$4000 USD.

The QCIII's are much better than the II's, but I have the II's and they are portable. The STAX are not noise cancelling, but they are INCREDIBLE headphones.
