Hello:

> I am receiving a monthly check from S.S.DI
> I am a veteran (1973-1978)
> I am U.S. citizen.
> I will be 62 yrs shortly.
> I married an ecuadorian in 1989 (Florida state)
> My wife worked in the U.S. almost 3 yrs legally
> Because of health problem we decided to come to Ecuador.
> She is 64 yrs old.
> We are 21 yrs married.

According to "BEST", benefits estimate screening tool, my wife will quilified for a pension from S.S.
According to severals web pages, my wife need only one requirement and that is to be as a minimun 62yrs. Old.
According to another american people my wife doesn´t quilified, because she doesn´t live in the united states.
According to another people my wife automatically quilified because of the relationship with me (U.S. citizen)
According to another people my wife does´t quilified under her record, but she will under my working record.
According to another people; I must to be 66 yrs old.

Question:
Did my wife quilified now for a social security monthly pension?

I will be very appreciated if you help me

Thank you

She must be 66 years old as well. But I don't feel she would qualify as she didn't have the required quarters of work for her own check for SS Retirement. And if she resides in another country other than the US she would not be able to collect. If you two lived in the US she may be able to qualify on her own but I don't think she would be able to not having the required working quarters under her belt.

To get a true, definitive answer you should contact the Social Security Offices and ask them yourself.
