The plastic intake mainfold tube going to the carburetor on my Murray 4.5 gas push mower is broken which is probably why it won't stay running after priming. I was taking the carburetor off to have the O rings and gasket replaced because of the ethenol they add to the gas. Can this be replaced?? I now have Sta-Bil Marine fuel additive to add to the gas to stop the corrosion the ethanol causes to engines.

Is it just cracked or in actual pieces? The reson Im asking is because it may be able to reassemble it if the breaks are away from the mounting surfaces and then sealed with a product like JB Weld.

The end of it is broken off at an angle. I tried to add an attachment but don't see how to anymore.

Can you post the model type and code from the blower housing and the model of engine, if known. You can also post the Murray model.

You can post attachments using Go Advanced/Manage attachments

If this is a Briggs engine, there will be stamped into the blower housing some numbers. They may be difficult to see.

There also has to be a real model number somewhere on the mower.

Intake tube part # 794305
Intake gasket part # 272199s
You will have to take off the blower housing to replace it ,but you will see it when you take off the housing.
Luck

I went to Mickey's Small Engine Repair in San Antonio and got that part. It was the wrong one but they exchanged it for #699644 and it came with the gasket for $7.05.
Thanks anyway. Why can't they put the model number where you can see it!!

1. They want you to back to the OEM (Murray) for parts.

Did you ever find the model number?

Yes it's 10H902-0216-E1 .I had to remove the coil to get the intake tube out and replace it. Now I need to know the gap for the coil and also if there is a trick to putting the housing back on and getting the rope to work. I'm thinking it's because I have the wrong gap that's stopping it from turning. HELP my grass needs cutting badly!!

For the gap, use an index card. Works like a champ.

Put the index card between the coil and the flywheel. Tighten. Rotate and check to make sure it doesn't touch.

Thanks everyone. I got the mower back together and it runs!It wasn't just the manifold intake tube but the diaphragm on the carburator. The reason the rope wouldn't pull was because I forgot to pull the lever on the handle... Duh the mower's been down a while and I forgot how to use it!
