I have a theroy to protect againest sex offeneders, if computers use a finger print to access this will give the user access to info on line but if they are offenders they will have restricted info i.e no access to kid porn or face book etc. no access to cites that will allow them access to children is what I'm trying to say. Broadband companys can get the addresses of the sex offenders and restrict there access as well. Under the data protection act this info is not public knowledge

All offenders should be tagged no excuese ( police should enforce ) minor or major a sex crime is a sex crime it doesn't have to be a rape attack to leave a victim.

And just who is responsible for the computers and their use? Are you saying that all I.P companies should invade the domain of a private citizen and control content for that person and be held responsible if it gets out of control?

Its out of control now... who's responsible now?

If all computers have a finger print access just to allow the user proper use of there computer

If you have a clean print you have nothing to worry about now do you, I'm not saying companies have access to non-offenders info as there not on a sex offenders reg.

If they use there print police have a better chance of keeping on eye on them even if there out of state or eviding charges of a sex crime

There are so many things wrong with your idea, its scary ;)

First, how are you going to identify kiddie porn sites? Since they are mostly illegal, if law enforcement was able to identify them, they would be shut down. Even if they were just legal porn sites, again how do you identify them? That's the problem web filters have been having for years.

Second, how do you force someone to buy a computer with a fingerprint reader? What if they use public machines in Internet Cafes or libraries?

Third, why should ISPs foot the bill for tracking sex offenders?

First of all, you need to learn how to use the rating system. The disagree is only to be given for factually incorrect information, not for difference in opinion. I balanced the reddie you got earlier, and I also just balanced the reddie you gave to califdadof3.

Secondly, I get what you're trying to say - sex offenders are dangerous and it feels as if more should be done to protect children from them. But invading everyone else's privacy is not the answer. Instead, why don't we make the punishment more severe? Make them afraid to go after a child. The bottom line is that you don't win by punishing the innocent along with the guilty.
